This is a hand where I got lucky but I have been really thinking if I could have avoided getting my money in while being way behind.

iPoker - £0.50 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (BB): 79.28 BB
UTG: 53.24 BB (VPIP: 20.44, PFR: 13.81, 3Bet Preflop: 5.71, hands: 188)
MP: 221.26 BB (VPIP: 42.59, PFR: 12.96, 3Bet Preflop: 7.69, Hands: 56)
CO: 92.18 BB (VPIP: 24.60, PFR: 16.93, 3Bet Preflop: 2.89, Hands: 952)
BTN: 50 BB (VPIP: 13.64, PFR: 12.12, 3Bet Preflop: 4.55, Hands: 69)
SB: 18 BB (VPIP: 45.00, PFR: 5.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 20)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, Hero posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has J:heart: J:spade:

fold, MP raises to 11 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 79.28 BB and is all-in, MP calls 68.28 BB

Flop: (159.06 BB, 2 players) 4:club: J:club: 9:spade:

Turn: (159.06 BB, 2 players) A:diamond:

River: (159.06 BB, 2 players) 4:heart:

Hero shows J:heart: J:spade: (Full House, Jacks full of Fours)
(Pre 17%, Flop 88%, Turn 95%)
MP shows Q:spade: Q:heart: (Two Pair, Queens and Fours)
(Pre 83%, Flop 12%, Turn 5%)
Hero wins 153.06 BB

So what I am asking here is whether you would have done the same thing in this situation? I mean set mining is out of the question with that bet so I can't just call and fold.

Would anyone actually suggest folding this pre?

Just so anyone is wondering this table allows max 50 BB buy in hence why my stack size is lower than 100 BB.

Why are you starting the hand with less than 100bb? When you shove 3bet what range are you expecting to be called by? How well does JJ do vs that range?

The bad thing about the shove all-in is mainly your letting him get away with medium strength hands we crush and getting him to call hands that crush us.

I'd have 3bet prolly 4x his 3bet and called his jam. Also i'd be jamming all flops if under 3spr.

But be extra careful because 56 hands isn't really enough to judge if he's a aggro fish or decent Lag

Prolly a good way to burn money until you got more of a read on him, but naturally 200+ hands and he's 40+ vpip and 7+ % ... yeh i'm getting it in.

Because this table allows max 50bb buyin. My reason for shoving is simply that I take him as a fish here for making that raise and his stats are fishy as well. My hand seems too good to not play for 80bb against this type of player. I expect to get called by TT and AQ sort of hands minimum that's kinda always the problem with JJ.

But I also have massive fold equity here if he folds this a few times then I make up for the times he has QQ+. And generally this isn't AA that you can be 99% certain as almost nobody opens a hand like that with it. KK is also unlikely.
