This is a discussion on $50 NLHE 6-max: AK 4bet pot 160bb eff stack within the online poker forums, in the Cash Game Hand Analysis section; when i didn't saw flop bet i decided to try steal the pot on the turn. when K comes on the river i bet 25percent
Villains line doesn't make much sense tbh hands like 66 77 88 call pre and wont really be in a 4bet range. It's possible villain could take this flop and turn line with a hand like AA but is never taking this river line with the hand.So i can see why you called.I don't think you need to defend the river with AK here though as you have the sets in your range and possibly T9s where as villain doesn't really have those hands.Calling does seem very optimistic to me but it is also quite hard to see what we lose to taking this line.
I really don't like results in hand histories though as i feel i can never give 100% honest feedback with the results.

i was betting to provoke my opp, and when i doing provoking bet i can't fold to jam. and i never could play x/r w my hand here, so if he had JJ or QQ he pay me my little bet here, if he had AA ok i'll pay him, but when he got air he can easy jam w thouht that he have fold equity. so i think my line gives me maximum profit here

Yeah villain's line makes no sense at all to me... I mean 3-betting range from the SB isn't very wide... so his fold equity on the river is really only for TT-QQ. Would've made more sense for villain to bet flop I think.... Honestly odd that he even jammed seeing as how reading through the hand it seems obvious that you check the flop to see where you're at, then bet the turn with two overs or an overpair, and take him to value town on the river. Would've been better for him to raise you on the turn, then at least he might have some fold equity and be able to gain some information about your hand strength.....
I think you might be right also about betting to provoke a bluff. It's all circumstantial, but some of the time he might be okay with going to showdown if you check because he might think you've given up. But at the same time..... what are you betting with that isn't going to call a shove, given the previous action??

After some more thought i think it's a spot you run into 2 pair the vast majority of the time with hands like K8s K7s K6s in villains 4bet bluff range. It's a spot that's very under bluffed so i don't actually think calling the river is +ev tbh.Villain can have some bluffs but i'm not sure villain has enough bluffs to make it profitable. I mean we need like 27% equity to make the call break even and that seems pretty optimistic. It's not like a 1/2p river bet is small and induces a ton of bluffs.
