hands like this make me realise that i shouldnt be playign 50NL right now. im definitely playing with scared money since i just had to withdraw about $600 of my roll to pay bills. this would be a good table if i was comfortable, but after this hand i quit, deciding that it would be profitable to stay, but had the potential to be way too high variance for me with my current roll.

220 hands on villain. hes typical spazLAG, 53/35 with a 13.1% 3b stat, 3b 38% of buttons (16samples). AggF 4.2

fold to Cbet in 3b pot 30% (10 samples)

maybe i should just open fold pre because i expect him to play back at me most of the time? i really dont know. obv his 3b means nothing to me, so i 4b knowing that K7s still does real well vs his range, but by no means well OOP vs a 3b.

flop TP, loving it, standard Cbet, he calls. good, im still happy.

i check turn for pot control because hes very check raise happy and his range is still hell wide open.

river again, i check for pot control with the intention of calling any size bet he makes, inc shove. kinda hoping he will spaz out like hes prone to but still not loving life.

how can i play any of these streets better? was feeling a bit lost. bet/fold turn if he raises? bet/call? bet/fold river?

cheers guys

Trying to get a 53/35 to fold pre is not gonna end up well very often. Just fold pre (the first time actually, it's not going to be profitable to open with this guy on your left, but most definitely fold to the 3b). As played though against this villain I actually like how you played it postflop.

My intention was never to make him fold, it was to gain initiative in the hand and crush him postop with a hand hat still plays pretty well vs his bs range lol.

I dunno. I was thinking ye ****, should've just open folded pre. But then what hands should I open? I mean, even AJo can't really call his 3b OOP. Pretty much none of my range can. I kinda have to 4b anythin i wanna play pre cos I'm OOP. And if I just stop opening everything bar the virtual nuts I'm going to be getting creamed by blinds.

Wait what? I wouldn't fold AJo to a 3b from a reasonably aggro regular, let alone this guy. You are getting odds and absolutely destroy his range. But I'd probably stick to opening something like 15-20% in the CO with this guy on button and K7s would not make the cut.

And you'd 4b AJo right? Then just let him hang himself post like I did? I dunno I hate just calling a 3b even with something as good as AJo here because lots of the boards it flops good on are going to be super connected and scary, and a ton of times I'll have to give it ip

if he 5bs not AI, im only 6b shoving the top of my range, prob exactly the same range as id regularly 5b shove vs anyone else. i dont expect him to like ever 5b here though... hes flatting literally everything either bc he wants to see a flop, or he has me fkn crushed and is now in slowplay mode. just really really really 3b happy

Ditto

Don't 4bet bluff someone with a 50+vpip, he's probably flatting his entire 3bet range. I'm also not opening this pre.

As played I bet the turn and ship the river.
I like your play as well as he likely floats alot and bets his air, im certainly not doing it for pot control, I have toppair vs a moron.
