I got $15 free from Party, withdrew my funds about 2 moths back, $15 free money is all I have over there. Since it's free, I felt like gambling with it, so I bought in short $15 on a $50 NL table and after a few hands, I was dealt:

Hero:
:ad4: :as4:

I didn't have a read of the table yet, but I was on the button, 4 limpers round to me. Most of them have me covered.

Hero raises to $3, SB calls, UTG+2 calls.

FLOP($10.75)
:ac4: :3h4: :8s4:
SB checks, UTG+2 checks, I checked.

TURN($10.75)
:7c4:
Checks round to me, Hero bets $4, SB calls, UTG+2 folds.

RIVER($18.75)
:6s4:
Hero Checks, SB bets $6, Hero??

Feel free to criticise my play.

45, 59 are out of the question. 910 would have been a very fishy play and the hand wasn't played like that. I would definately shove here.

If I were to make a guess Villain is setting on AA high kicker or A and he paired the board.

Make the shove and collect your money.

I missed the question in the heading. I think slow playing that hand was an o.k. decision. You weren't at risk with the flop.

Let's look at it.

You have shown strength pre-flop.
You back off the flop.
Try to steal the turn.
Back off the river.

If villain has any of the hands that I suggested above, I play the hand the same way he does.

Very good play. Your goal was to get all your money in the pot and you have accomplished it. Let's see if villain calls your all-in. We want a call here.

Why would 109 have been a fishy play?

I guess you are right 910 suited could play this way as well. I don't think 910os would. With the way villain bet, 9c10c is a definite possibility.

I stand corrected.

Calling a 5xbb raise with 10c9c? Usually I'll just muck T9s, if there's a substantial raise in front. I don't know, would you have played T9s?

If you only had $15 to start the hand then river is an easy shove.

Rest of the hand is fine. With deeper stacks I'd be saying lead flop and try to build a pot, but here effective stacks are small (so we can often get our stack in on the river anyway) and there's no real dangerous draws on the flop.

I would have pushed immediately on the flop, you dont want any stragglers who'll hit a straight or two pair. Aces are only good to a certain point

Bet 4 or 5 dollars on the flop...you are much more likely to get callers here than betting on the turn when they are only getting 1 more card. Push the rest in turn.

Flopped The Nuts

The check on the flop was correct...you flopped the nuts come on. When you bet on the turn, it wasn't a big enough bet so you should've went all in for the rest of your $$$. You still had the nuts when the turn came but only betting $4 in a pot like that w/ what you had left, you should've went all in. I think you played it correctly up until the turn w/ that weak bet you should've went all in & collected your $$$.

Agreed that my bet on the turn was too low. I should have shove the turn. Anyway, for those of you interested in the results.

I reraised all-in on the river, knowing that I was beat. I just can't fold Ace trips. *sigh* Villain flips over:

:9s4: :10s4:

My mistake on the turn bet. Why I choose to check the flop? First, I wanted to represent KK or QQ, make it look like I'm afraid of the Ace, so that any weak ace will bet.

Yeah, I should have sent out a probing bet on the flop. That's another mistake I guess.

Anyway, enough of this, I've learned from my mistake.

Next hand!

109 s dont think so

10 9 s would even be a very marginal preflop call if you had HIM coverd. big raise preflop there
Unless u got a "hes an idiot" kinda read, i would count 910c out. easy push. If hees got it then i guess your sitting at a good table.
