Uber n00b has been raising far too much pre-flop (38/31/16)

wycklow is a TAG (17/5/14) who is somewhat passive pre-flop

This looked like a good squeezing spot.

Seat 1: wycklow ($51.80)
Seat 2: Hero ($88.20)
Seat 3: Wally_Wall ($116.90)
Seat 4: MidniteBaseball ($50)
Seat 5: POGermain ($132.50)
Seat 6: super_bebop ($24.85)
Seat 7: asmrozi ($62.85)
Seat 8: Uber n00b cs ($22.05)
Seat 9: tassler ($49.95)
Hero posts the small blind of $0.25
MidniteBaseball posts the big blind of $0.50
The button is in seat #1

Holecards :

Well his most likely holdings are middle pairs, and maybe AQ+. Small pairs and suited connectors generally don't call this much, and big pairs obviously reraise.

I don't like the squeeze so much considering we'll be OOP if anyone calls (which he obv did), but as played I think we can toss in ~$10 and take it down more often than not.

I don't like the squeeze play here. I would have picked a better hand to make that move. I think many players overvalue J, 10 too much. Fold preflop.

I find a ton people playing J-10 and people usually win big or lose big. I would have folded preflop though.

What is your criteria for making squeezes?

Ace anything, Q, J or better. K, 10 or better. I just don't see why you reraise with J, 10 offsuit other than the fact you had position. If there were no raises, then the play is understandable.

I'd have thought the cards don't matter too much when you're squeezing, because the idea is to get everyone to fold. Anyway wouldn't it be better to make the play with a hand that's not easily dominated like JT, and not Ace-rag?

I was out of position here (and to a thinking player, that makes my hand look stronger), and if there are no raises it's not a squeeze be definition.

wow. I do like lol. You have fun hands BJ lol.

With deeper stacks and his minraise, id prob put him on a pair trying to see if you have AA or KK or whatever.

But with these stacks, wycklow has 34$ already in the pot, and only 16 left?!

Do we have any fold equity with our shove?

16 to call a 100$ pot, im thinking hes calling this everytime?!

That is a slight problem. I should maybe have made my flop bet a little bit smaller so I'd have more fold equity if he called or raised. However if he thinks he's drawing to two outs, he can probably still fold. I definitely have outs with the gutshot if called, and Jacks and Tens may also be outs. Backdoor flush is worth one more out.

Yeah great move but I'm afraid he's not deep enough to fold this. I fear that he might feel beat, he's probably on AQ, but shortstack desperation usually calls there. I hope he folded or else the turn brings you a 9.

Hell probably think he has 5 outs though. If he has KQ hell put you on AA or if he has AQ and with such a large pot and only 16 to call, hell consider KK.

On those 5 outs alone he has odds to call, plus adding the feeling of being pot committed after putting 2/3+ of his stack in.

If he folds this thatd be the coolest move ive ever seen lol.

Definitely 99-JJ are possible, and they'll probably fold to a shove.

And they would fit the preflop call more than KQ or even AQ.
