hott_estelle: ??

Maniac player, but with decent hands most of the time--just really overvalues pocket-pairs or draws or even top pairs. Has been involved in a lot of pots, and has been calling down and pushing with hands less than top-pair even. What can we put him on here and what is our move??

I think he has A-Q. I would call/raise with the overpair. Not the best play in the world, not the worst.

Having said that I would have raised to 8 Pre flop. Different hand then.

~3:1 odds Have to at least call, and if you're calling you might as well push.

Just a call preflop and not a reraise villian probably doesnt have AA KK or QQ.
AK, JJ TT KQ KJ QJ AQ A9 could all potentially make the flop call and you're beating most of those hands. Even against A9 and QQ you still have outs. Push

We have 2 outs against A9 or QQ, and if that's what we're putting them on, well I don't know about you but I don't routinely hit 2-outers on the river.

Out of 10-15 hands they may be on you are only losing to 3-4 of them and of those 3 or 4 you still have outs against all but 99, which he probably doesn't have because why raise someone whos betting into you with quad nines, so you are winning 80% and only have to be winning 30% to push.

I think QQ is the major concern here, and very few people would re-reraise with QQ so i dont think preflop dismisses that possibility

I never hit them, but they seem to hit against me all the time ;)

I think he smelled a weak bet $11 into $24 and reraised to push you off your hand.

Still no reason to reraise with QQ here with you betting into him.

Anyways, so you fold and he showed QQ then?

Raise way more PF. Your pf bet is almost inviting...

As played I'm really not sure to do as my brain doesn't function too well at 8 am.

I think he also has a Q with a big Kicker. Possibly one of your outs.

I think your PF raise is fine here.

Have to sign off soon so come on "Spill the Beans"

:)

^^^ This. I'd pop it to like $8.

Besides preflop, as played what would you do combuboom??

And about that preflop, I was expecting only the villain here to call, and I was trying to reel him in for this particular situation because he has been a maniac, that was prone to throw around a lot of money.

Well as played, it's made the situation pretty sticky. He could have filled up on the turn, or he may be just overplaying Qx. Maybe even A9, who knows.

I probably stick him in and expect to see a random queen call, but to see it more often than a filled up set.

If he's such a maniac, why not raise more preflop? You'd be making more money when he calls with trash and misses the flop.

As it stands, I'd move in. You're getting good odds with a very good shot at seeing top pair.
