No reads on Villain, but table is very loose passive, seeing a lot of 3 card razz hands.

First time I'm seriously trying Stud 8, so very very basic questions.

1. Overlimp w AA7ss. My thinking was it doesn't have a ton of scoop potential w all the door cards 8 or lower (cutting into my chances of making a low), so I wanted to see 4th street cheap. Correct or not?

2. I think I made a sucker play to call 4th and 5th - I've improved, but to a sucker low draw and a dubious high hand. Am I thinking correctly or not?

3. On 6th I almost certainly have the best high hand I think. I didn't expect Villain to check behind, so didn't think at all about whether I should have donked - should I have? I may scoop if I pick up a low and Villain whiffs a low draw, but I'm not sure that's the right way to think about it.

I like to just bring in on the 3rd. More fish will pay to see the next card. However I would not do this during tourney play.
I would raise on 4th. Seeing what he is showing you will either get the call or a raise. Either way you are standing good.
Again same for 5th.
6th is the tricky play. I don't like checking there. I think you should have bet out there. I play stud by one good rule most times. "No free cards" If you feel you have the best high and he might whiff the low you want to get his money in. Either way you get the money, if he calls and misses, or if he folds to you.

Raise 4th to clear the field. 5th is fine (the other 2 are folding to a single bet usually) or you can raise. Bet 6th.

Also, 3rd is fine. AA unimproved vs multiple low draws is kind of meh. People will play for 1 or 2 bets on 3rd if they are playing and there is no need to bloat the pot yet.
