His very first hand at the table.
Preflop and on the flop is standard imo.
The trouble came on the turn. Checking back allows him to maybe catch a weaker flush he might fold to a bet on the turn and pay me off.
He might catch a card for a straight and i'd be in a very shit spot.
If I bet the turn i'm snapping a shove and it also makes my river decision very easy due to odds.

So I decided to bet turn to protect my AA which could still be good, and avoid a tricky river decision.

I think I bet less on turn, we can still bet less and get it in on river since he is so short when we do indeed hit and it allows us to play a smaller pot when we miss cause villains here who call turn are showing up with some type of 2 pair or set hands and his shove on the river is basically always a boat with the 9.

as played you're folding? I'd be hard-pressed to fold even knowing his range is weighted toward the nuts.

No it's not even weighted to the nuts. It is always the nuts. No one is just randomly shoving river here and unless we have a note we cannot assume an unknown is just going to spazz this hard with no fold equity

It's hard to fold but im pretty sure even the 5 to 1 odds is not ok which is also why we bet less on turn to avoid these situations where we feel priced in but have nothing realllg

Good stuff. I'd always just bomb the turn here myself assuming we have soooo much equity and also (wrongly) assuming villain must shove or fold.

We actually dont have a ton ton of equity against a rang that calls 2 streets on this board obv if he jams turn we get it in but we are not golden here
