I probably wouldn't have called pre. The hand is dogmeat.

I meant to say that this is a 2$ Cap game and we both had 5$ stacks...

pf, that's a pretty marginal hand to call in the bb. Suit the A, make the 5 something closer to the T9, and it becomes less marginal, but still oop.

We flop TPMK, a gutshot, and a non-nut fd. Everyone checks, incl pf opener, hard to put anyone on sets (should be betting w a fd on the flop), AJxx probably bets as well. hands we're worried about - middle and broadway wraps, bigger fd's, A's w bigger kickers.

Taking a stab on the blank turn is fine - are we folding to a raise? If there's a caller, what cards are we going to barrel the river?

I fold to a raise here, and if called and I don't improve at all on the river I wouldn't put any more money in.

I would push the action on any flush card on the river. I would like a red eight on the river also.

Shall I post the conclusion?

Awful starters, horrible position, multiway=check it down, hope for yr gutshot (even then you may be beat by higher str8).

If HU a bet might take it but not multiway.

Bad call, bad bet... this hand is giving me a headache ;)

I like the turn bet, how crushed can we really be?

Loose Call, Good Bet

Here is the hand again with the ending included.

Thanks for the input and I agree it was a loose call preflop but a good bet on the turn.

On reflection (20/20 hindsight) I lean more toward sly and c9, and also Dusty, meaning 'when in doubt, bet' so the steal was not a bad move... just not sure I would make it every time, woulda been fine to check to the river also, then decide what to do.

Just a thought, since it's not relevant to the actual hand, but if we get called it seems to me we ought to be planning on barreling a lot of river cards. A caller is going to have broadway wraps, fd's, and J's alot I think - so I'd be leaning towards barreling any card that isn't a club (c/c if it's not potted) or a broadway. I think we're ahead most of the time, but I'm looking to fold out AKxx, AQxx, and A3xx type hands. What do you think?

I get what you're saying but I would think the AKxx and AQxx hands would bet the flop. The only one that wouldn't is the A3xx hand.

So yes, you're right.

I agree that the pre flop call was way too loose. What if KcTc4c hits the flop. Are you going to be willing to play for your whole stack on your made 5th best flush? what if KTcKd is the flop? What about AxKxQx? Yes there are also some flops we would love here but even those are easy to be a dog against post flop.

How could the ten of clubs hit the flop again?

I have it in my hand.

Atlanta, I just want to point out that a lot of AKxx hands are not betting this flop. This is not holdem, people do not play top pair hella strong. But yeah I like sly's approach of turning it into a bluff on the river.
