Flushes never seem good on paired board, surely they still have value? I checked turn for pot control. How is this as played?

It's close; if you're going to put a near pot-size bet in, it's probably better to do it on the turn than the river.

Hmm, yeah, I think I'd rather bet the turn. He's not folding trips, and the 2 or 4 don't really make a lot of full houses with a queen.

So I think the way the board ran out, I'd rather go bet/bet/check back river. The ten isn't a great card, since its sorta coordinated with the Q. So lots of hands with Q's in them have the ten as well, and a decent chunk of villain's range just made a boat.

Also, I think the choice of bet-size on the flop is pretty interesting. I like the size, but I'm not sure if we're calling a raise or not.

Calling a flop raise would mean he has trips and we are hoping he doesn't fill up and we hit our flush. Those odds would be slim? I thought a raise anywhere wouold mean we have to fold?

so lol? I was just replying to c9 saying he's not sure whether he would call a raise on the flop.

Yeah, I hate folding to raises on dry boards though. But at these stakes I suppose they always have it.

He checked on flop, and turn, suggests he doesn't have Q, so I would bet 1/2 pot with flush on turn, and hope for a checkdown on the river (10 is scary card if he does have Q, as c9 pointed out)... your bet on turn forestalls his shove on river if he catches; he is likely to check into you hoping to stack u with reraise. Also, after yr check on turn when fl hits, shove on river is good bluff for him...

people play way more straightforward than that in this spot. UTG has QT a ton and expects you to play a flush exactly this way.

That's a tough lay down but paired boards make FH's so often in Omaha, I check/call through to minimize loss when he hits. I lay down on his river bet, maybe it seems weak but that's a good thing, he's gonna bet into you next time when you get the nut FH.
