I often see this situation happening and am never really sure how to interpret it. I will often float a donk bet in position on a not too scary board and see what villian does on the turn. Take this hand, villian is 16/9 over only 50 hands. I often think in these pots the villain is on some kind of draw and is looking to either take the pot down now or at least build it up for if his draw hits...

If he has been playing too agro Ill call this but really most of the time if hes gonna bet it again on the turn hes got it. There arent too many draws out there really. A4, A5, 45 but if you can put those in his range then I think you'd have to put a couple of hands with a 3 in it too.

I can see 88-JJ showing up here too and if hes really bad he'll have bigger pairs. So you beat the draws and 44-66 but are they really gonna double barrel the those hands on the turn? Depends on the player here I think.

I am such a donkey but I would really want to get it in. I just always feel like at this level a lot of players don't know what there doing, and money does not mean as much so getting bluffed here is a possibility... just wish u had some previous experience with this player.

Villain 16/9 over 50 hands tells you that at least he is not a maniac and that he has something. At 5nl Flatting OOP and donkbetting reeks of big pair, usually AA but sometimes KK QQ JJ. The fact that he donk bet the flop and then really liked the turn should scare you. You are now playing for stacks and you only have 77. Easy fold.

Getting value-towned with 77 is bad, I think the flop is a fold but I can understand taking one off to re-eval on turn. But I don't think a 16/9's range in the SB has many draws at all, this reeks of small overpair not wanting a bad card to roll off.
