full tilt poker $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players - View hand 981143
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG: $5.00
MP: $5.00
CO: $1.75
BTN: $6.19
SB: $7.16
Hero (BB): $6.46

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with A A
2 folds, CO raises to $0.17, 1 fold, SB calls $0.15, Hero raises to $0.55, 1 fold, SB calls $0.38

Flop: ($1.27) J 7 9 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.90, SB requests TIME, SB calls $0.90

Turn: ($3.07) K (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.85, SB calls $0.85

River: ($4.77) 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero ???

My thinking to not value bet was that he possibly hit a set on the flop, and was slowplaying, then decided to check/call the river for fear of me hitting trip kings or a straight on the river.

No one is worried about you hitting a 2-outer after flopping a set. Furthermore few at 5NL are thinking about your holdings at all, after all:

"OMG I HAZ PAIR"

bet more on the turn and put the rest in on the river.

You have less than a PSB left on the river and there is plenty of worse that calls. Shove. Also bet bigger on the turn.

PSB?

I realize I should have bet bigger on turn now. I guess I am just a little timid after having my big starting hands being cracked a lot recently.

BTW, villian showed KQ of hearts. Pretty loose call on the flop IMO with a gutshot and a backdoor flushdraw when i've shown quite a bit of strength.

why are players always so damn scared about people hitting a set...

He's calling your flop bet with ALOT more than that like 86, pair of 9s maybe 7s, JT+. Turn bet is lol

He probably thought you were weak-tight and you'd let him draw cheaply on the turn by betting less than 30% of the pot and that you'd never actually put in a real bet to make him face a tough decision. Good thing you showed him.......

i would have bet more on turn and value bet on river..So many players over think the hands and always put their opponent on a hand that beats them..

I agree here that a lot of people seem to put their opponents on the hand that beats them. Good point.

As you can see by the rest of the posts here I would definitely bet that turn more. Good luck on the next one.

You definitely gave him a good price to suck out on you with that turn bet. But at that point, why fire another bullet, the only 2 losing hands that are gonna call you are AK and queens, and AK probably folded on the flop or would have check raised that weak turn bet, leading you to wonder if he hit a set of jacks on the flop or kings on the turn, or even he loosley called you with KJ suited preflop. The weak turn bet could have indicated to him the king scared you.
IDK what I'm talking about, I just post cause I want the better players to quote my mistakes. So I learn !
