Outcome: $8.40 returned to Hero

Ill try and explain my thought process while going through this hand Pre-flop when he didn't re-raise me I automatically wrote him off from any big pairs and possibly AK. Now when the flop comes down and he x/r raises me I either put him on either AQ, KQ, QJ, possible a set of 99 not a draw since it was 4x. However when the turn comes and he checks instead of bets I honestly was a little confused so I checked the turn as well having the thought that he was on either of those hands I just mentioned. But when the river came and he checks again I discounted him having a straight two pair or even a set possibly KQ but I would think that if you have KQ you would bet the turn for value since your trying to represent something so huge when you x/r on the flop and then when he check shoves though I was really confused. Iono honestly I think I played the hand poorly and would like some criticism from you guys on what you would do or how you would have played it.

Thanks

First things first.....use auto top up to 100bbs...sitting with under 100bb is not good and is -EV when you stack a fish who is buying/auto for 100bb's.....I'll get back to your hand in a minute :)

Bet bigger on the flop, maybe a pot sized bet since board is wet...bet turn don't let him see a free card to catch a straight/flush....< In general....never let anyone see a free card if its checked to you....I've not looked at the result for the hand but I would guess 9K-AT based on his line.

I prefer here check on the river, because I'm afraid of some hands. Board is a little dangerous. Possible are better queen than our, sets, full house or maybe a straight. Check on the river is safer. Here you have better position than your opponent, on the turn should be any bet. I agree with that we shouldn't give him a free card, because there is FD on the turn.

hmm i think its a mistake to call an all in here. there are really not that much hands you can beat and you hand isn't very likely to improve. zoom is a weird game with players folding every hand untill they catch premiums

My rule is don't go broke on a pair, i would check back on the river. You will sometimes by way ahead and sometimes crushed. And i think in this particular situation it's more likely your crushed. But the result went your way in this instance. But next time ??

You will hear the expression don't bet medium strength hands on the river and this is pretty much a classic example of why. You got yourself into a right tough spot on the river unnecessarily when you could have checked it down with your little better than top PAIR HAND!!
On that board your hand is little more than a bluff catcher to pick off 10-9, A9 or as it happened A10 you don't beat anything else that check raises on that flop. Nothing you beat is going to call and anything that does call beats you so don't bet the river here.
IMO his semi bluff check raise was ambitious/silly on such a wet flop, good call. On the turn his check is a big giveaway that he is on a draw.
I always follow a check raise with a big bet regardless of what I'm raising with..
He should have shoved the river regardless after your turn check it was his only way to win the hand. As it was he gave up, but then you gave him another opportunity to try and take it away, and as you said it looks like you called out of confusion.
This is all so much easier with hindsight afterwards but this is an easy spot to recognise when not to bet.
