Just wondered what the take on the turn and river play is here?

My stats are 14/14/10 over 21 hands. Villain was limp calling from the front a lot and also 3 betting, so I thought it was possible he could have a wider range of hands then usual despite the sample size.

SB posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has K:diamond: K:club:

fold, fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, BB calls 2 BB

Flop: (6.4 BB, 2 players) 3:diamond: 4:spade: Q:spade:
BB bets 3 BB, Hero raises to 9 BB, BB calls 6 BB

Turn: (24.4 BB, 2 players) K:spade:
BB bets 12 BB, Hero calls 12 BB

I c/c turn here for pot control and to avoid being raised off my set and draw. My plan is to fill up or if not c/c the river depending on bet size..

River: (48.4 BB, 2 players) A:club:
BB bets 29 BB, Hero ??

I want to call here but am I just donking off chips by doing this most of the time?

Weird donk play by BB. Raise more on the flop, raise the turn (AsKx/AsQx is definitely in his range) and 100% we're snap calling the river but can't see too much point in a shove.

So a donk continues to donk... no surprise here. Raise more on the flop (at least 11-13). Raise the turn, and I guess as played call river. A river jam is close, but probably not enough enough on him at this point.

Why would you call the turn and fold the river when a brick hits? Have to call the river and hope for the best. I can definetaly see him holding a paie with an ace of spades which would explain his weird turn donk.

33/5 is a guy who likes to call. Definitely make it more on the flop. It wouldn't be a big surprise if he's willing to call as much as 15bb.

Just calling the turn seems to over-weight the probability he has a flush. It's a generalization, but people who like to call are less likely to bet their draws, which suggests he's somewhat less likely to have the flush than someone who would have led the flop with a draw.

As other's said make a bigger raise on the flop. But as you played just call the river I don't see why you would think so much about this situation, you don't have much info on the villain and he didn't even make a very large bet on the river so calling this is the right decision 100% of the times. You cannot just fold a hand like that with so little info on your opponent. There are still quite a few hands you beat that he may bet for value on the river.

Thanks guys, I should of definitely raised more on the flop... Still not convinced about raising the turn if I'm honest but definitely he'll call a much larger flop bet.

Why would you call the turn and fold the river when a brick hits? Have to call the river and hope for the best.

I did call on the river, just wanted to get some other takes on the situation.

Still not convinced about raising the turn

How about if another spade comes?

How about if I get 3bet and have to throw away a hand with equity?

If another spade comes off and he takes the same action I have to throw away my hand, but its roughly 15% (if he has the As and discounting the 3s) a spade drops and roughly 20% I pair the board. I believe if I make a full house I stand more to gain from completed flushes as he like to call and can call a bet OTR when he bluffs a missed draw or value bets a lower set/2 pair.

Im calling this river and would expect to see a wide range of hands. He donk leads both flop and turn but not very big and is still betting half pot when the K arrives on the turn.. He appears to be betting with something but still looks scared of making it a really big pot. .I might expect to see a flush with low spades or villain with 333 444 as you beat both the lower sets and any random 2pairs I would call.
