Hello,

I was dealt QQ recently and the guy who remained after the pot seemed to be a bit tilted. He had just lost a big hand and was raising constantly preflop for about 1/3 of an orbit. I got into a raising war preflop with him and when the flop came down I thought a set was possible but I didn't want to fold. It just felt like there were many more hands he coulda held like 88, 99 , TT, & JJ. Should I have folded somewhere down the line?

Thanks!

I think you can't rule out Ace hands as well. He limp-3bets and flats a 4-bet which can indacate that he's holding some Ace hands and medium PP and I don't think I'm ever folding this flop considering he's tilted. We're beating all Aces hands and all poocket pairs like 99, TT and JJ which he is very likely to stack. If he comes out with a set, so be it. We're good the other 8 times and you still can catch a Queen on the turn or the river.

How did the hand end? I'm assuming he did make that dreaded set.

Why raise flop, especially against an opponent you suspect is on tilt and is going to spew? I'd rather call and let him barrel into us on turn and river with a TON of weak hands/air.

Unfortunately, he did have pocket 7s.

I guess I probably shouldn't have raised on the flop.

If I had been acting first, would it have been wrong to bet out on the flop? Or should I have gone in for a check call/check raise?

Thanks guys!

Evaluating your action based on his actual holding isn't a good idea. You need to consider his entire likely range.

I mean, it still doesn't change my advice about just calling, but it's for an entirely different reason - not because he had a set.
