Villain is TAG and likes to 3bet from the blinds.

Action flops to me and I raise with QJs from the CO, BB calls. Since he likes to 3bet from the blinds I'm thinking suited connectors or a small PP.

I flop trips, 2 clubs present and he donks making me think he most likely has a flush draw. I raise and he instacalls.

What to put him on now?
7J is out, dont think he would call pre with that. 77 possible but unlikely, flush draw if he thinks I'm trying to get him to give up, or a jack suited with K,Q,T or 9. AJ he would have raised.

Turn is a ten and he bets again, I feel like a draw is unlikely now maybe with 2 overs. I call.

River is a dud but he still bets. Call or a raise? Folding is out I think.

He might have worse hands that call your river raise sometimes 88, 99,QQ,KK,AA, J9, A7s, AT. Given your read he likes to 3bet hands, he also will bet J9s and A7s sometimes left are {some combos of J9 and A7s}. He will most likely call A7 very seldom. So worse hands to call your raise J9 let say 75% of them 3 combos.

Raising river vs 3 combos only is bad, so call. We can even give him 50% funny calls and total is still only 6 combos.

Then again I probably got it wrong again ;)

Raise the flop more, raise the turn, calling the river with that sizing and stack left is fine at this point.

Fyi, you can't 3 bet the turn, but you can raise. I see beginners say this all the time, but there's no possible 3-bet on the turn, there's only been one bet.

These are tough situations. However most the time we are good... If you raise his turn bet I think we find out where we are, which is ahead majority of the time... i think this hand plays itself... He may be tag, but sometimes tags get out of line....

He could have ATcc or any AXcc... He could have air too...

I think it's fine the way it's played, let him bet into your made hand... You may get max value here in this spot by just calling...

thanks

Raise flop as played. You did this.

Raise turn as played. If he donks again on River after you raise turn, I would call for sure, and might raise that as well.

If this guy has you beat I'd be surprised.

Yes, as played I call River for sure

raise turn, jam river. if he had a better J he probably 3b turn on you. IN GENERAL donk bets are indicative of good not great hands so in this case a weak jack is most likely IMO

when you raise flop
then villain leads turn

warning bells should be going off.

leading flop is generally weak though but after that it looks strong.

if you dont believe then they are easy calls. against a tag i wouldnt raise river even if i wasnt sure.

This is a tough spot. Once the villain bets the river I think you have to call here. You are getting about 3 to 1 pot odds and you do have a decent hand. Unfortunately I think you are beat a decent amount of the time. If your assessment of the villain being TAG is correct, I think you may be walking into better trips or a full house. The villain has actually lead out on every street. You raised on the flop and the villain continued to lead out on the turn. This should raise a red flag that he likes his hand. There are a decent number of hands in his range that have you beat. J7 is unlikely (but possible) for a TAG out of position, but JT, QJ, KJ, AJ, 77, TT, QQ, are in his range. AA+KK would 3bet pre for sure and probably QQ as well. A good number of these hands have you beat and his bets are asking for a call. I'm not advocating a fold on the river because you are getting a good price to call, but I just think we are going to be beat here a decent number of times.
The biggest part was him leading even after you raised. My plan would shift to trying to get to showdown cheaply.
Good Luck.

He had QJ of spades so we ended up splitting.

Flop raise should be bigger I agree, I'll need to work on that.

Turn bet from villain made me very wary so I got into passive mode, with more history on the player it might have been different.
