Hero checks, MP1 bets $4.18 (All-In), Hero calls $2.76 (All-In)

Total pot: $11.26 | Rake: $0.56

MP1 is 48 / 27 over 61 hands, no 3bet, unknown fold to 3bet. Raises 30% from UTG and does not fold to cbets. Looks like a massive fish.

I decide to 3bet just to see if he folds, and even if he doesn't I have a nice well disguised hand which is likely ahead of his range as far as equity goes.

Flop - With TP I cbet and see how he reacts. I don't think he has TT+ but if he raises I will fold.

Turn - I am putting him on some kind of draw or a weaker pair so I bet again for value. Pretty sure he never heard of fold button.

River - I check to get him to bet on a slim chance he would have folded river. He predictably shoves, I call.

1. Line check? I am aware the 3bet is normally bad, but against this guy?

Results below:
Hero had 9

, 10
spade.gif
(one pair, tens).
MP1 had 5
club.gif
, 6

(straight, six high).
Outcome: MP1 won $10.70

Thing that bothers me, I get shoved on here 100% of the time and 60% of the time I lose even though I had 70% equity on the turn. Either I am running bad or there is some kind of higher math here.

Most hands in a 30% open-raise range dominate yours, so I don't think just putting him on any pair is a sound idea. Like you can NOW because you saw him peeling off a weak draw on 3 streets (make a note), but most of the time he'll at least have JTo.

If you open and he flats is another matter. Then he can have pretty much anything and you can happily get stacks in.

Consider that he most likely limpshoves KK+ and raises/4bet shoves QQ/AK. This makes his range different than from a normal player.

Basically I am looking at all PPs up to JJ and various suited hands, including garbage. Agree about JTs, he would probably LOVE that hand.

Never 3bet bluff 48/27s. There are literally zero situations were its a good idea.

I half pot the flop. We're far from crushing, the board isn't wet and if we find we do want to get stacks in we can still do so quite comfortably.

I check call the turn pretty much any ten beats us and alot of his weaker holdings made straights or twopair. I think we're ahead a lot but a lot of that range is floated air and we're not strong enough to bet here so this is a good spot to float catch.

River is a fold. He has no busted draws and I can't see worse value shoving.

Yeah, the more I think about the river the more I conclude his wheel draws now often have 2 pairs or are made. Turn is also risky (ofc in retrospect it is wonderful). I just trusted my gut on this one and it ended predictably with a rivered cooler :D
