No c/r

Sorry, raised in position. Saw that after the post. Disregard that part.

Please post any thoughts about the hand in general but mostly if the check raise was a good amount to raise...LizaBuv

Haha, this!

OP since you're trying to learn and all here's the truth : you're a fish.

Now don't get all offended, it is up to you to stop it. Fold pre-flop, end of story.

Fold pre, check flop, fold turn, fold river, don't bluff at 5NL... and don't limp with T4. Ever.

Edit. When I first started playing facebook poker, I would play the hands as long as one of my cards was ten or above and the other was 4 or above. I thought, well that must be about an average hand so I'm sure to win most of the time as long as the hands I play are better than that. EZ game...

Sum Up

Just a quick sum up of what I learned from this post.

1) I am a fish
2) Don't dry bluff ever in NL 5

Not quite ready to change my ways just yet lol

I used to play this way in the beginning. I figured that the flat call or completing the SB made sense since it was such a small amount of money. And two cards that are suited are so pretty. And when I catch a piece of the flop, push hard to get the other person to lay it down. And when the person lays it down, cheer about how smart I was. I played this way a lot. Seriously.

I lost all my money.

Basic truths if you want to become a good & profitable player at the limits that you can afford:
  • Don't play this way.
  • Losing .05 ten times in a row with poor starting cards is more expensive than only playing 1 decent hand in 10 (math is a bit off, but the point is there).
  • You need to have a tight range of starting hands that you're even willing to play.
  • Good starting hands mean that the decisions after the flop are easier.
  • Those other players betting into you are bluffing SO MUCH LESS than you think. Really.
  • Fold. Fold often.
I know that the excitement of playing loose and hitting your cards is great. And if that's what you want to experience, play that way as much as you want. Get ready for lots of people to ask you where and when you play so that they can play with you!

If you want to improve your game and earn some money, you have to change your ways.

Either way. It's up to you.

Once you've got to grips with the game, multi tabling helps you to be more motivated to be playing good starting hands as

1. You have less time to think about playing crap.
2. Good hands come about more often so playing crap makes no sense.

As for the hand, the less you bluff in the lower limits and i mean my limit too 0.25c - 0.50c the more your win rate will increase. Its just not worth doing for the amount of times they will call.

A bet on the river is usually always for value. So bluffs just dont play well.

He obv needs to lose his roll a few times before thinking he needs to change his game. That or it will be rigged :)

Bodog Showdown

For those who think I am a fish, I would like to encourage you to sit with me at NL5(6 max or full ring) at bodog . More often then not I think I could make your stack disappear vs you getting my stack. Keep an eye out for me there as it seems quite a few are wanting a shot at me lol. Should warn you, I do play NL 100 at BWIN and have done ok...LizaBuv

Sorry

Sorry for turning this post into a poker challenge. I appreciate everybody contributing their ideas and hope everyone will continue to do so in the future. I have been helped by the comments from cardschat members.

That being said, I will continue to post some hands that might look a little crazy sometimes, feel free to comment on any of them.
