I had this hand marked to look over because I'm not sure if I missed value post flop. The villain was playing just shy of 30% of hands, but was never raising. Looking at it, I think I should have just C-bet the flop but I checked because I wasn't sure if I would drive him out with a c-bet. What do you guys think?

Don't slow play this. There are lots of bad turn cards. Just bet / bet / bet the set unless the board gets super ugly.

Trick question? :) Yeah, you need to bet that flop. Every time. Bet the turn larger. River is fine since your opponent didn't bet the flop.

Bet the pot on flop and take it down right away. He is calling you if he has AK or AQ or KJ/KT/AJ and reraising you with KQ or better.

So you need to raise much larger on turn and take it down unless he reraises the turn.

In this, I think villain had AX suited spades or some A, so he called the turn to look at the river. Lucky for you it was a brick.

I think you betted too much on the river. Especially against such player whom you described.

Thanks for the responses guys. Like I said, I agree I should have bet the flop. The other spots it was good to get your opinions.

I am pretty much always CBetting this flop. Most players at these stakes are passive. Only way you are going to win a big pot is by building it yourself.

if oppo would call a turn bet, they would prolly call a flop bet too.

your river bet was either too much ( for value) or too little ( to pretend it was a bluff).

so yes...i think you did lose value on this hand.

the flop isn't too wet...they would need a very precise hit to make their straight if they were holding AJ AT JT J9.

As most other commentors have said....i think you should have led out on the flop.
