Obviously in reviewing the hand I am betting too small on the flop, I am not sure why I have done this over and over. In part because my default c-bet is 40% and I have a pre-set betting button for that amount. I think I was trying to conceal the set but considering how wet that board was I know now that I should have potted it. Also the turn put me in total panic mode, I couldn't figure out what to do here so I checked, I think I am scarred by a lot of sets losing to straights/ flushes recently and I just end up playing these situations badly.
looking for help! :(

Why donk the flop here? I think that you should c/r bb if he cbets because most likely the people in late position will come along and you can take a nice pot or get stacks in

why do you only cbet 40% ? ur giving people the odds to call with marginal and drawing hands u dont want this when u have nothing you would be better of default cbetting 75% . And yes you should bet pot on the flop and never fold sets

In my last session I did start betting pot on the flop every time I flopped a set. I also changed my betting buttons so they are now; 50%, 70% and pot sized.

Villain is a short stacker so it should be an easy analysis. You will re-draw to full house or quads 20% of time. pot odds are 2 to 1 os need 33% + to make money by calling. if he's bluffing more than 1 in 8 you should call.
