Hi !

I am the BB with 99. 1 player open raise EP x3, one call, i call too. I flop trips on a not very dry board. I bet pot size, and the first raiser 3bet me x4. What would you do ?
sorry, i'm still working on getting the points to have HEM for free (i'm almost there), so i don't have the vilain's stats. he's a russian, so i assume he's a loose player lol
the reason why i donk bet is beside the 9 on the flop, i don't really like that flop, and think he might be on a draw, so i want to value bet and not give him a cheap turn. i didn't think he would 3bet me here though :-\
considering his 3bet, i considered either folding or 4betting him allin, but no call. considering a slightly loose hand range for him, i am a 80% fav postflop
i didn't want to risk all my stack on one hand, where i get hints that even though a strong one, i may not have the best hand

Honestly donk bet is fine on this wet of a board, when he raises you we're just trying to 3bet ship. He could put you on a lot of draws and 9s are going to be way best or barely behind so often that folding is not an option.

Bad fold...Chances are you are going to be good there. There are a few hands that beat you QT, T7, and JJ. Even if he did flop a straight you still have outs.

I agree with that ... with set of nines you probably have the best hand here. I probably never fold set. Besides your opponent can have pocket pair like QQ+. Here you still have about 7 outs on the flop to have better hand, on the turn additional 3 outs to full house. I don't see here hands like QT or T7, sometimes, he can have JJ but it happens very seldom. Take care :)
