Check back + call a bet on the river imo just to bluffcatch. If he checks river too you can value bet, looks like he could have a SD hand like twopair or AT or something.

Bet the turn, he's not going to bluff the river with a hand that he's checking on the turn.

I would check the flop there a lot. Cbetting is ok as well. Depends on the player really. Turn, just check behind. Try to boat up.

I think I would bet the flop as you did, check back turn and call a reasonable river bet, and if checked to again, make a vbet on the river, hoping to be called by one of the hands jbbb mentions. Of course if you boat up, raise river! :)

What if I pot him on the turn and he shoves??????

What if I check behind and the river is a blank, he checks, I pot and he shoves?

I think the river would be a bet/fold (unless the board pairs obv). I probably wouldn't bet as much as pot either. 48c?

Fold, but again, if you're going to bet the turn I wouldn't pot it.

OK, I think 2/3 pot (3/4, does it matter??) is good here (turn or river). He is folding anything he will fold to either. He is shoving anything he will shove to either.

Good point.

Say a 2/3 turn raise from me and a call, then a brick on the river, and he checks, are you betting out or checking behind?

Hes pretty TAG, and not spewey. I dont think he is calling the turn here unless he is trapping so I would be kind of afraid of a river shove if I dont check behind. Would a river brick lead him to expect my raise to his check????

I think what it comes down to for me is with the 4 straight on board you're hoping for pretty thin calls from a non spewy TAG, and/or to spike your full house on the river.

One line you could take is check behind the turn and vbet river if nothing changes. If he bets the river, then call hoping he was making a thin vbet himself.

If the pot starts becoming big and he's a non spewy TAG, you've got to start getting concerned. That's why I prefer the check back on the turn, as absurd as it may seem to others :)

Nothing in OP suggests he's TAG but assuming he is we can discount a ton of combos we'd be worried about here because he's not calling that much Jx preflop, he's not calling with Jx very often on the flop and he'd probably lead quite a bit of the time with a straight on the turn.
