Instead of posting the action here, check out the video. My read on the river is with the board pairing, my hand is good enough of the time that betting for value and calling off is profitable enough.....

Or is it? (and this is just a leak in my game).

*** NOTE *** - I led out every street (did not want to slow-play this hand).

In this particular situation, I put my opponent on a range of Kx (even KJ), QT, and busted flush draws because the way he played that hand. Taking that into consideration, accounting for the shove, there's enough of those types of hands in his range that I felt that calling off was the correct play. Conversely, the only hands that could have had me dead was 44, JJ, KK, and 7x (probably hands like 67, 87, 97 up to A7), though just calling on the flop and turn, and then with the 7 coming on the river, I just felt confident that 7x wasn't part of his range. I also eliminated KK and JJ because I think enough of the time, he's 3-betting behind me with those hands, especially in position.

I guess I could have check-called a value-bet, or bet smaller and fold to a shove, but I think long-term, the way I played it was the more correct play.

Ironically, a VERY similar situation came up a few hands later where I rivered trips against somebody who had an overpair (Jacks). I'm posting the video just below. He did the EXACT SAME THING I did on the river (bet pot).

Isn't poker such a fun game sometimes? #swingy

Anyhow, please give me your thoughts on the first hand and how I played it and my thought process. Faulty? Or correct (long-term profitable).

On the end your river bet is too big for my tastes, against most players I'd bet around (60%) $1 here and fold to a shove.
Conversely against this fishy stack size I would be betting bigger on both the flop and turn and then juggling the river sizing to his stack.
If he has Kx he's calling just about any sizing.
As played you have to call it off as of course he could be doing this with with any K.
In the 2nd hand he makes a similar mistake, too big on the end, what worse does he think is paying off a bet of that size.
