I only had 10 hands on this guy but he was pushing every hand. bodog doesn't give you hole cards unless they show and he hadn't shown a hand, so I couldn't put him on any kind of range. In this situation, early on a table, is it best to lay low instead of playing your top pair?
Bodog - $0.05 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3
UTG+1: $3.28
MP: $8.16
MP+1: $4.98
LP: $1.49
CO: $6.43
BTN: $10.66
SB: $3.95
Hero (BB): $4.36
UTG: $6.06
SB posts SB $0.02, Hero posts BB $0.05
Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has 9♦ 5♦
fold, fold, fold, fold, LP calls $0.05, fold, BTN calls $0.05, fold, Hero checks
Flop: ($0.17, 3 players) 9♣ 6♦ 8♣
Hero bets $0.08, LP calls $0.08, BTN calls $0.08
Turn: ($0.41, 3 players) 7♦
Hero bets $0.41, fold, BTN calls $0.41
River: ($1.23, 2 players) J♠
Hero bets $0.61, BTN raises to $10.12 and is all-in, fold
My thought on the river was that if I checked or minbet he would raise me regardless of his hand. Here is where I think now I should have just surrendered, checked, folded and moved on. While I'm almost certain he would have raised QT preflop, he could have had a Tx. Or he could have just been crazier than me.
EDIT: It just occurred to me that I might have made a mistake with the pot bet on the turn without following with a pot on the river, as it may have suggested a busted flush. Maybe I should have stuck with the half pot bet on the turn?
