This guy had folded to 3bets 100% of the time (7/7) so i decided to flat AQs since by reraising i will get him to fold most of his weaker hands and only continue with a range that's ahead of me. i flopped very nice with TPTK and the nut flush draw but i don't see much value in raising. when he checks turn i bet only 60% to make it easier for him to call with a J, but should i have bet more like 75% due to the wet board texture? on the river the king is a bad card and i assume he has me beat when he leads (KJ would make sense given he x/c turn and improved to 2 pair on river) and i doubt there are many bluffs in his range. how would you guys have played this hand?

I think you should re-raise the flop. You have TPTK with a nut flush draw and you'll want to make the pot bigger.

As played, by the river I think you should be calling. Missed flush draws for both clubs and spades may fire this river. With you folding as good of a hand as AQ here your opponent will always be right to do so frequently. Even with garbage.

i raise preflop anyway. my general strategy against this player would be to keep 3-betting my legit 3-betting hands, and to also mix in more 3-bets with weaker hands that can flop big or that block (Axs, JTs) since he seems to fold too much.

as played, i pop the flop. if you get 3-bet just 4-bet jam.

on the river i think you're usually beat, but break-even is only 27% and you've under-repped your hand strength, so i call.

I think you played the hand pretty passively by not 3betting pre flop and not raising on the flop. If a guy has a 100 record of folding to pre flop 3bets then it is generally a good idea to 3bet him with worse hands. Don't mind the fold on the river though. :icon_geek
