What should I do in a situation like this when someone suddenly starts betting big? After limping pre-flop I knew he was pretty unlikely to have AK or a big pocket pair. His bet just really seemed like a bluff to me, and I know many players will shove and bet big on flush/straight draws. I was also on tilt at the time after busting out of 3 consecutive 1.10 sngs, one with AQ sucking out to AJ with a royal flush (I had trip queens on the flop, he hits a backdoor).

Cooler, just lose.

But raise more preflop, ~23 cents is potsized, and preflop is a spot where people will routinely call larger than pot sized bets.

Yup raise more pre flop other than that when even we are up against a set we are lucky if we get away cheap. But often that is not the case. :(

well, first did ya have any previous reads on villain?

next with just top pair good kicker i wouldn't go re- raising the turn. call his donk bet, see if he shoves the river. i guess you'd have to call at that point given how short he is ,,
