See the hand above. I am always in doubt when facing a river bet on a A high board and holding second pair myself. We do not have much hands on villain unfortunately. So, I folded but was it the correct play? Should I have called?

Thx in advance for all serious responses :)

I think a fold was the right move here, Looks like villian controled the pot by checking back the turn and could see having done thise with a weak A such as A6 which then hit the river straight and therefore put up the raise for value.

Typically in the micros when you get raised on the river, or there is a shove on the river they very likely have it, especially given his 28/6 stat so he is slightly loose but passive so its more likely when a passive player bets and in this cases raised you that your TT is crushed.

Only thing I figure that could do differently would have been to pull of the check-raise on the flop to rep a bigger A which might have gotton him to lay it down or if they flat then lead out the turn and another flat or reraise at that point you just have to shut it down being the micros IMO as the would not be folding then.

V never raises with an A, almost certainly bets the turn. Question becomes what 6s can V have. 68c, 6s, 67, 65, that's about it, and he's sitting UTG so even with a high VPIP 65os and 67os are very unlikely. V could also theoretically raise with 4s.

That being said, at 2/5c, I can't see V bluff-clicking back on the river. Good fold.

I fold to his raise on the river, but I prefer here alternatively just check/call on the river.

Thx guys, reading this I now think the most essential mistake was probably that I should have bet on the flop.

Yes, if you bet on the flop that you find out more about the opponent's hands. Win some chips or fold this card on turn or river. If u bet you can win or lose less chips. It's better option
