By the flop, my plan was to get it in. Villain continued on the hand as expected. But on the river that open ended straight killed my action. Is it a get it in spot?

Although u are quite committed, it's very hard to see what u can beat here...and the fact that he appears to be very LAG makes it worse.

Consider that any hand having two cards 6-J beats u (and I think most are in his range). It's very unfortunate, but it's a check/fold (assuming he bets).

Any two pair lol
sets
the only two hands you beat is KK QQ. But doubt they flat post flop.

First instinct is to check/fold... But what if what if.... this river scares our villain as much as it does us?

Don't always ignore the fact that our villain maybe hating this 9 as much as us... But given the stats on villain he will call us down.

So second option I thought of could be a check/shove to his bet, but given his stats it won't work and if he bets he's committed or he isn't going anywhere. People with those stats don't like to fold.

Perhaps a different play could be a clean shove on the river. If he doesn't like that board, we could definetly get folds here and we have JJ in our range. If he has 2pairs and put us on overpairs, we could definetly stress him big time. Even a set will think hard.

Just look at all options :) keep an open mind.
Theres always more than 1 way to skin a fish!

Yeah it's a c/f as you can't turn your hand into a bluff here vs. his range.

Very weird that this player has such aggressive stats and he is just flatting on this board. It almost just feels like a sticky call with a weak ace. But what does he do with each of his hands on the river? Kinda unpredictable.. I've seen players with these stats call two streets, bet the river, and then show something like 22-55. I would like to have seen how he played his other hands at this table.

Im check folding too.

You only beat AQ, KK and QQ here. Dont think his has JJ there, All of his possible JX got there. Very uncomfortable spot but check/fold is the best option ONLY if you know he wont turn AQ into a bluff.

Tough spot but I fold 8/10 times
