I would have advised you to do some pot control in the hand either by checking back the flop or checking back the turn.

That way you would have an easier decision. The check raise on the turn is a very strong move so you can lay your hand down there and cut your losses since you only have ace high.

Yes, he can have Tx - He's a FISH. I'd fold on the turn unless you have some really good reads or stats that make sense to continue, which it doesn't look like you do. He's a FISH and he's telling you he has a hand, believe him. As played, I guess you're calling the river now but I almost want to fold. Like how I bolded fish, because the guy you're playing is a fish and fish don't make many moves and fish tell you that they have a hand and we need to believe the fish because they're fish? :) He's a fish, don't think, just believe. <--- maybe that should be a bumper sticker?

I check either flop or turn. As played river is a fold, the A changes nothing IMO. If the A did change anything he wouldn't be betting it.

I did pick up the nut flush draw on the turn in this hand and had to call 2 into 8 so odds were OK on the turn. Agree river is a fold.

Looks like he hit the T on the flop, and maybe filled up with the 8 on the turn. I would say he has a pretty tight range when it gets to the river, either Tx, 88, etc.

I don't think the nut-draw changes much on the turn personally, you could easily be dead given the flop-call and turn raise.

That said, fishy player, who knows. Probably A5o.

Nicely played from here.

Even a fish knows how to slowplay especially if he is way ahead.

True... I thought you had AKo so missed that on my phone. So, turn is fine.

We are deep stacked... Ak is a troublesome hand when deep stacked and we can so easily stack people off when not careful. Why did you raise so much preflop?

We have position and we didn't utlize it by checking behind on the turn... Also by pushing hard on a paired board... We are going to be stacking off better hands when we have a flush,

What hands are going to be calling us down? what are we really beating?

Remember when your not drawing to the nuts and you don't have the best hand, we don't want to make the pot stupid because we are just asking for trouble. We need to have some sort of control and plan for these cirumstances to protect our stack and still make a bit of money, but we can't often get too greedy here unless your bankroll can handle the varience.. Because a total fish will end up with many hands that beat us, but how do you react after this hand losing a big pot? Are you prone to tilt? ... Sometimes the outcomes of hands can really determine the rest of your session, and will test you as a player. All these random factors I have said should also come to the equation of making the play in the previous hand.
