There are two ways , we go to showdown cheaply as possible x/flop x/call turn decide river

or
we can not come to a showdown >>> overbet flop I mean

c-bet in 4way pot didn't work and you burn money with middle pair

You should definitely fold preflop, because you are OOP and have a bad hand. After flopping TP you will probably get more respect from the button player as you check-raise him. By donking the flop you still don't know where you at especially when there are 3players behind you. BB calls which shows a lot of strength because there are still 2 more players behind him. I would have just folded on the turn after a check-raise on the flop.

I can't even believe this! Why are we betting pre? With suited one gappers we want to limp in cheap to hopefully hit a straight/flush draw. Your donk bet flop would have been a whole lot cheaper, but I wouldn't have bet on the flop multiway, odds are in a multiway flop someone hit hard and it aint you with your 8's. I am not sure what the odds are of hitting a gut shot, but I do know it is a long shot. After the turn we are done. You betting the turn just shows you don't like money. However, the BB checking on the end tells me the BB doesn't like money either.

Fold pre. Check-call flop. When you get raised, you have to fold out your equity. Check-call turn and allow him to bluff his draws. He's folding out all his super weak hands like GSs if you bet and maybe 2nd/3rd pair + draws. As played, giving up on river is good.

Yeah, if we have position then I'm OK with the call, given that there is a limper who is probably a recreational player and could give us added value when we hit something. But from the SB, we have a bad hand that doesn't hit anything often, OOP and multiway. Not taking into account that the BB could just blow us out the hand now with a 3bet. But post flop is the biggest mistake IMO. I'm unsure why you would donk out? You have too pair with a weak kicker, any of these players could easily have an overpaid or a set. Also, there are a few good cards to come on the turn and river, any club would increase your equity and a 5 would give you a straight. So imo, check flop and hope to see a turn card cheaply and then if it checks around and the turn brings a good card then you can bet for value.
