$5 NL HE 6-max: Too passive?

Think I played this too passively? I decided to try and play it tricky and lead the flop with trips but I was minraised and the small blind called the raise. I had a weak kicker so I didnt want to get into too much trouble. River was close to reraising because BTN was all-in and I was more convinced SB didnt have the 8, but I opted to just call.

Flop: Yes I like the lead in this situation. A c/r pretty much flips over your hand and c/c is just bad on that drawy-ish board. However I like leading for a little more, make it .40c to go. I hate to bring levels into it but at 5NL you definitely will have tons of callers with any 9, probably most (55+?) PP's, and any OESD.

Any how assuming you still get min raised and a flatter after that, you have $2.5 in the pot so I'm 3betting his min raise bs to a pot-ish bet and jamming the turn on anything but a 9

Hope that helps :)

Quoting this because its right. You could consider bet/calling the flop if their raise was larger, and donking the turn, but its going to be tricky to figure out which cards make straights & which cards just give people two pair. So bet/3-betting the flop is probably the best line, especially at these stakes.

No reason to raise the river, no hand that u have beat can call a raise anyway so u did the right thing by not giving ur opponent a chance to reraise the river and u be put to a very tough decision.

PF: Fold
Flop: I'd have kept the bet to 4BB, 5 is infringing on fold-off zone, considering what the flop was after all. Had that 9 bet higher, the 5BB bet might've been okay.
Turn:I like the smooth call here.
River: Played well, considering you had a low kicker.

I dont think I can ever fold PF with a suited hand with longshot straight potentials, albeit idiot straight, with those pot odds... just my style

When I bet the flop I wasn't thinking of it as 5 big blinds but as betting half the pot. I figured I would donk bet half the pot to represent a nine or some sort of straight draw. Since the preflop raiser raised minimum I was hoping he had an over pair and would raise me, or atleast peel or make a play with AK. The button raising minimum worried me but the SB worried me even more with his call. I just had a bad feeling... and that's probably because I watch too many pros play on TV and then I play $5NL
