Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 60/32/2.6

poker stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players

Really interesting table this, 4 really good regs targetting a fish/maniac with a big stack who has doubled twice getting lucky (but not through me). I pick up a hand after waiting a while I had been pushing my earlier good hands trying to value bet him large. Fish had called along with all but me.

Hero (SB): $5.35 (107 bb) 19/17/ ag 24! /3b 8.3 58 hands
BB: $5.21 (104.2 bb)
MP: $8.40 (168 bb) (gold star)
CO: $11.29 (225.8 bb) 60/32/2,6/30 58 hands
BTN: $11.37 (227.4 bb) 21/14/1.6/3b 14.5 48 hands

Preflop: Hero is SB with Qc Ad
MP folds, CO raises to $0.35, (this was his standard raise)
BTN calls $0.35 (standard he's done this a few times to the fish), Hero raises to $1.45, (I should be able to get the cold caller to fold and get heads up with the fish)
BB folds, CO calls $1.10,
BTN raises to $3.90, WTF!?? damn button must have been trapping...think think range.... must be beating my AQ

Hero folds, CO raises to $11.29!!!!! and is all-in, BTN calls $7.39

Flop: ($24.08) 5c 8d 4h (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: ($24.08) 3c (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: ($24.08) Qs (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results: $24.08 pot ($1 rake)
Final Board: 5c 8d 4h 3c Qs
CO showed Jd Ac and lost (-$11.29 net)
BTN showed Jc Jh and won $23.08 ($11.79 net)

Would have won the hand if id been reckless enough to get it in and would have had the fish dominated if the button hadn't caught a hand..nice hand though by the button. not sure id have the balls to get 220 bb in with JJ.
Think i'll go find an easier table!

Easy fold. No one at 5NL is flatting to induce a squeeze then fake 4b to GII vs a maniac. Honestly no one should ever do that period. Don't be results oriented. Now if this was the Maniac, obv GII

flatting out of the small blind may be better, button seems tight over the small sample plus you aren't closing action as BB can wake up with something every now and then

Folding is what I would do myself unless you think you are up against what you were. I would have folded, but there are people that think the way the person with AJ thought. I would have flatted in the small blind because I think that if an ace came on the flop that I could get well paid.

I lean toward flatting pre-. Squeezing assumes the opener knows how to fold, which isn't necessarily so. BTN is more likely to know, but some of his range will be enough to call, especially if he thinks I'm capable of squeezing, plus he could have called with a good hand in the hope of inducing. AQo doesn't flop especially well, and I'll be OOP with it in an inflated pot if called.

Yeah i think that your fold is correct at all, and with your aggresion you did great job too, and now u have good notes about both players, the first obvious fish AJ and the second overplaying his JJ if both players flat called your raise i think you would fold ut hand after the flop or worse after the turn where JJ are big favourite.

Pre play I'm flat calling.... Raising most of the time we are taking hands out of the way we beat.

Button may also think your both fishies as well since he's on the lower scale of the spectrum.

But remember the wider you play the more action you'll receive on your stronger hands. Just don't be bleeding too much money like this in the future or it wont matter what you do.

Also a good habbit to get into is folding Aqo in SB.. anything less than prems due to the fact that we are in the worst position ever.
