tight passive player comes to life.

I think u did the right thing, unless you have some reason to think this guy or gal

is blowing up he really likes his hand and that River card just sucked big time I

think he probably had u on the turn anyway so the Riv just adds a few more

hands that crushed your set. tough fold but a good 1 I think

There's absolutely zero reason why you shouldn't be getting it in on the turn here.

As played you pretty much have to fold river though, although i have trouble assigning villain a range given that his stats are solid. Stuff like AdXd vaguely makes sense but not a lot else does.

Raise preflop larger, bet flop larger, bet turn larger, 3-ball it in on the turn. You have a set, you want $ in the pot and out of your stack ASAP.

Yea my instinct poped up that the villian got me on turn but I didnt believe it. Push the call button and wishing for a pair on board on river which is wrong.

We should have jammed the turn.
However I cannot see the flush or straight being completed all that often on the river unless we had this guy call with his KJ to gutshot you (you can't blame him your c-bet was horrendously small).

As played I can't see how we could ever fold this river considering the odds were being given.

I would bet larger each time and shoved the turn but, imo, you did make the right fold because both draws got there and there were better sets possible... Im just not sure that he WASN'T bluffing.

What are his blind PFR and Blind V$IP like?

Does he tighten or play lose from there?

At this point at the river, there's really not much you can beat anymore.. I would certainly fold

I would have bet 70c on the flop to root out the gutshots and if by chance he did hit a gutshot then i would have payed him off on the turn. You cannot be afraid of that one hand that beats you everytime. download pokerstove at pokerstove.com and learn how to calculate hand ranges. If you want the balck and white anwser shove on turn.

Board: Ah Td 3s Qd
Dead:
equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 70.704% 70.70% 00.00% 2551 0.00 { TcTh }
Hand 1: 29.296% 29.30% 00.00% 1057 0.00 { QQ+, 3c3d, 3c3h, 3d3h, ATs+, A3s, KJs+, QTs, ATo+, KJo+ }

As you can see your hand was 70% to win over your unknown opponets hand range. This is why it is important to know how to calculate hand ranges. Somebody who only plays
22+,AJs+,KQs,QJs,AQo+,KQo only plays the top ten percent of all hands dealt to them. This information provides anwsers to somebodys image and how they play and gives you the edge to exploit them.
