So my thinking was on the PF when i 3 bet him and he called. I figured he had to overcards to the flop when he pushed. I have seen him do this trick so many times so i figured i was way ahead. I was putting him on JJ+ or AK and possibly AQs. I figured i had him crushed. I honestly didnt think he would call a 3 bet with 56s. Was i wrong for not even seeing it or having it in the back of my mind. Please leave feedback on how i should have played this. Should i have folded on the flop when c/r or was this just a hand that the other play got lucky on and was destine to win. Please leave feedback. I am always looking for ways to improve my poker game. Thanks Aesop

I don't see anything wrong with how you played it. Maybe make the 3 bet a bit bigger.

You lost the pot so it hurts, but against his range on the flop I think you have to get the chips in. As it turned out you were way ahead, so some sklanksy bucks are heading your way.

You got your $ in way ahead. That is never bad. Don't be results orientated. You will get this idiot's money in the long run.

Hey thanks for the input. I was trying to make it 3x his original raise but as you can see fell short in the sense i only had it 2x his raise.

ive noticed at 5nl they will call bigger bets so i usually make it like .80 to go.

but other than that its standard. He's playing sc's oop and shoved a gutshot. Keep playing him and collecting the sklansky bucks...it'll even out eventually.
Well played

It has been a while since I was playing $5 NL , Grinded up to $25 now. When I was there though, I just used to bet my big hands hard. I'd have made it $1 to go. I know you want a call, but most players who will call .60 will call the extra. You are just getting more money in miles infront.

Don't beat yourself up about losing the pot. Providing you are sufficently rolled. Keep getting your money in, in those situations and it will be a winning play.

Hey thanks every 1. I am not beating myself up i am just wondering if ppl would have folded A's in that situation. Its only 4 bucks i lost and am rolled for it so thats not a problem. My main goal was to make sure i played it right and that i didnt miss anything that i should have seen. I know bad beats are going to happen in poker and this is one. I am learning from it and it was a well spent 4 dollars in the sense of i now know when I bet, bet hard next time when 3 betting some1 and really control the pot. Thanks again every1
