Here is an interesting hand from the cash game NL5 I played last night. I played multi tables and I did not use the tracker so I do not have any important information about the villains. I'd love to hear your opinions about my play here, so please let me know what do you think, I am correct or not? Would you play this hand the same as me or otherwise?

cheers :)

One thing I think is a good strategy for wet boards is don't worry about check-raising, simply start with a large bet and try to get them from seeing anymore cards. Check-raises are more for when the board is dry or you have the nut flush/straight already and don't wanna miss a bet from the villain. Other than that the call with a set isn't that bad of a play, the villain here was possibly trying to get you out of the pot knowing they had a flush for a backup if you did call but that's just a guess (but since he was the short stack I can see that being the case). It's really more just a bad beat on the river than anything else, hope that helps!

couple things: there seems to be a bit of confusion with the player names. elond was in the hand and you said alkeksedr folded before flop. then he seems to be the one you faced in showdown? changes things a bit as their positions at the table are different.
Anyways, given your cards, I think you did the only thing you could by raising on the flop. darned hard to fold a set when you get re-raised after. he only had a draw so calling the all-in was also to your advantage. he was willing to pay for the flush, so all in all, just unlucky. sometimes we lose......

thank you guys, also I think this was only a bad luck.. I believe I must call his shove with a set and if there is a set over set then cool, but if he has only draw then I has about 80% on the turn.. However I lose 80% of such hands..lol. And yeah, I noticed a name problem also, probably it's just some bug on hand replays.. :)

You're only loosing against pocket tens on this board and you're almost flipping against a monster draw like 89s. Don't see you ever folding the second nuts on this wet board against the short stack of the table. This is just a bad beat in my opinion.

Set is strong enough to get it in practically always without need to think it too much. The set is beautiful made strong hand, but also wonderful draw hand when hitting destroying flushes and straights.

Let say board is monotone, Ts4s7s, Villain has As5s, and you still have nice 34.4% equity with your set. When having that much equity behind it's hard to make big mistakes. And learning not to make big mistakes is kind of the story of micros.
