$5 NLHE 6-max: River sizing?

I bet the turn small hoping to keep villain in then when the river came another club my heart sank. I bet small thinking if they raise I fold but should I have just check called here instead? I was afraid they may bet 2/3-3/4 which would have put me in a tough spot. How could I have played this hand differently?

You played it pretty well. Preflop you should call because of the great odds and you played it well post flop also.

Raise pre with suited connectors good hand anyway when you close FD bet larger x2 pot will be good, made hand - big pots, if he calls turn just shove river.
