Sorry for the messy HH. Bovada didn't make it very easy on me. Anyways, I would love some thoughts on how this hand played out. Do not hold back in telling me I played this worse than your daughters slightly retarded friend... or whatever :p :D

Flatting is fine -- a raise from a Bovada player raises alarm bells already, but he could be doing that with like AK or something.

Post, bet every street until you hit an overcard and fold to a raise.

So bet into him after the flop? I had a slight hand history with this villain, and I knew he was going to put the pressure on but I still understand that we can't count on him to bet every time.

I just rarely flat a raise pre and lead out into the raiser... Is this something I need to be doing more often?

That's just the standard line vs passive fish. If you have a read that he'll bet all three with garbage when checked to though, then by all means go with it. Point is though that turn is a random blank and thoroughly non-threatening. You should look to get value out of it.

Are we just accepting the times that he has a higher PP? I guess I am seeing monsters in the closet and for no reason....

depends on villain. Against a standard loose-passive fish I'll just bet into him because he will call me with garbage pairs, draws, etc. and then fold to any raise because it's the nuts. But if he will bet into me with air then air is FAR more common than any made hand because statistically, all hands will miss most boards.

The raise gives you good information here, he is less likely to have made anything on that board. The reason I say this is his 3bet from the button signals a good strong hand (like a big ace). If he was playing suited connectors or a low pair looking for a set he would probably try to keep other players in the pot to get paid off right? Instead his line suggests a hand that works better in isolation vs. one opponent.

There is a reason, it's because of your position. Use Gordon's Pair principle (number of higher pairs x players behind you / 2 = chance of running into a higher pair)

For you its 4 higher pairs x 5 players behind you = 20/2 --> There is roughly a 10% chance they have it. That is pretty high considering it would only be 2% if you were in the sB. I just like to keep that in my mind when I am deciding how to play a medium-ish pocket pair. At a $5 cash game I might shove and waive the 10% chance.

Yes they will call 100% of the time with QQ+ but at that level of stacks you will get ALL sorts of calls including a lot of hands you dominate or race with. If they are going to call 75% of the time with lower pairs and Ax hands I think I'll play. Besides I hate making tough decisions.

I can deal with the emotional loss of 1 BI at that level.
