$5 NL HE 6-max: Overvalue 2pair vs fish?? No3!!

Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 62/10/7

Stats over 21 hands this time, same drills as before, sc's getting me in tough spots vs fishies

poker stars, $0.02/$0.05 NL Hold'em Cash Game, 6 Players
Hand History Converter by Stoxpoker

BTN: $6.88 (137.6 bb)
SB: $6.47 (129.4 bb)
BB: $5.40 (108 bb)
UTG: $6.37 (127.4 bb)
Hero (MP): $5 (100 bb)
CO: $5 (100 bb)

Pre-Flop: Hero is MP with 7:club: 6:club:
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.15, 2 folds, SB calls $0.13, BB calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.45) 5:club: 7:heart: 6:heart: (3 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets $0.35, SB raises to $0.70, BB folds, Hero raises to $1.75, SB raises to $6.32 and is all-in

Looking at it now i think if i'm going to raise there i have to commit and it has to be to something like 2.10ish that way the shove poses no problems at all b/c we've got half the stack in already, maybe i've just answered my own problem here but what do you guys think??

I think villian got the straight...
after the SECOND reraise you should have stopped and thought about the hand a little. Villian pushes all in...hmmm I don't think he's bluffing. Even the greenest fish is not gonna put his whole stack at risk on a bluff like that. Maybe if there was no action leading up to it the fish would bluff but not after seeing a 3xbb raise preflop followed by a 3/4 pot bet post flop and then a reraise before pushing. I would let this hand go.

Yeah, I don't think TP c/r this flop or stacks off. He either hit his straight or his set I think. A combo flush/oesd draw would shove hoping for a fold or just call instead of reraising like this. How did it end?

Final thought - maybe he has two pair also :)

Cheers guys,

I thought it through and put him on a set, i called in the end though b/c i had stacked 2 pair vs a fish about 5 mins ago who had also turned up with a set so i thought i might have been creating his hand out of that, the fact was, he's still a fish, and just b/c the last fish turned up with the goods i can't go fearing the fish, he did have the set though but thats just variance, most of the time he's got a smaller 2 pair, tp etc

glad you figured this out. Im stacking this most of the time because he can be shoving any top pair, overpair, OESD, or gutshot if hes aggro enough.

Also, not sure im raising Sc's from MP. More of a BTN or CO spot for me. Whats your opening ranges look like?

Opening ranges, off the top of my head, and these are probably slightly stricter than i actually play by tbh, we'll take these as open raises with no limpers to make it simple.

UTG: 22+,A2s+,KQs,QJs,JTs,AJo+,KQo

MP: 22+,A2s+,KJs+,QJs,JTs,T9s,98s,AJo+,KJo+,QJo

Button and CO ranges are pretty much the same but may get slightly tighter in the CO depending on the btn's 3bet amounts

BTN,CO: 22+,A2s+,KTs+,QTs+,J9s+,T8s+,97s+,86s+,76s,65s,54s,AJo+,KJo+,QJo

Thats just a rough estimate though really, sorry if it's a bit long winded, i just put my ranges in pokerstove and copy pasted.

imo your to loose UTG.
Micro stakes postion is every thing so playing stuff like A2s UTG doesnt thrill me.
My utg range for 25nl 6max was like this:
22+,AJs+,ATo+,KQo.
And it basicly stays like this until the CO(a litle loser each postion but not by much) where i open up alot.
It obvsiously depends on the table and i know im always to tight but i just dont see how u can profitably play A2 from UTG.

Take a look at your database and check if your actualy making money with these hands when opening UTG.
