I understand this sentiment so I guess you're playing against the Villain, not really the board - he better have a high agr freq cuz are we expecting him to barrel air at this board? Jx probably thinks it has decent showdown value and checks back, so the bet is likely Ax or air. Even Ax might check-back figuring it dominates (or is dominated by) your open-check range.
The problem w/ a c/c line is that without enough info on the opponent you are almost required to c/c down, or you are putting yourself in a sh*tty situation if the opponent is good enough to barrel down recognizing weakness (unless you occasionally balance by open checking top pair)
