$5 NL HE 6-max: KK on button

ok.. no stats and no hand converter...

its folded to me on button.. KcKd..
SB folds, BB takes a little while then calls.. been playing against him a couple of hands and knows he likes to defend his blind... also he bluffs a lot on the turn when checked back by the original raiser...

so i raise 17c SB folds BB calls pot: 36c

flop comes KhKs8d, SB checks....

what do we do?

Bet, because the BB likes to spew and play back at you and no one is folding any pair for 1 bet on this flop. Hell, you probably get calls from ace high and other such rubbish.

I agree, bet. Don't get crazy with FPS. This is one of those hands were you likely get paid off as a habitual blind stealer. Your range here is extremely wide, and this isn't a particular scary flop for A high, lots of small pairs, etc.

I would not, however, bet/raise because you're worried about nothing and you have position. Just bet/call. If he leads the turn again, call, raising only if the original bet is ridiculously small. Raise or bet the river, obviously. Smile smugly as you stack the chips.

I check.
Sure we'll get a street or two of action from pocketpairs if we bet now but I;d rather let him spew with all his range on the turn and river.
If he doesn't bet the turn after we check we throw a half pot bet out then follow the river up with another.
We get two streets of value against pps still yet give him the chance to spew.

Doesn't betting give him a chance to spew, but just spew bigger?

I'm goin with the read on the above post and tbh I prefer checking back in general as it makes me look weaker than merely c-betting.

Obviously you and I know that if anything not c-betting that board looks much stronger than simply c-betting it and inducing a checkraise bluff.
I just don't think your average 5NL player is gunna know that or be capable of checkraise bluffing.
The Spew I mostly see at low stakes is the "Yoo haz checked now I must bluff you" rather than "Your going to c-bet all your range on a flop this dry and a very small percentage of it is going to call my check raise as I am representing trips hence I have fold equity to checkraise my air"

Dude, I can't count the number of times I've been check/min-raised on boards like this and its been air. Villain expects you to c-bet, he defends his blind, so he's not just going to give up on a flop like this where its unlikely you hit. Since villain didn't donk-bet this flop (the most likely way 'tards like to bluff at boards like this) I think c-betting this is oh-so-standard.

And besides, villain doesn't have to be "bluffing" to check/raise us. I've been check-raised on boards like this by pocket 4's and such. IMO this is just not a good board to slow play on as there are plenty of hands that will call a bet.

"also he bluffs a lot on the turn when checked back by the original raiser..." with this read I would check back on the flop but this is not my default line. This depends more on the villian that I'm playing with. Against an unknown I usually bet
