I'm goin with the read on the above post and tbh I prefer checking back in general as it makes me look weaker than merely c-betting.
Obviously you and I know that if anything not c-betting that board looks much stronger than simply c-betting it and inducing a checkraise bluff.
I just don't think your average 5NL player is gunna know that or be capable of checkraise bluffing.
The Spew I mostly see at low stakes is the "Yoo haz checked now I must bluff you"
rather than "Your going to c-bet all your range on a flop this dry and a very small percentage of it is going to call my check raise as I am representing trips hence I have fold equity to checkraise my air"
