5 people in the table, I'm the big blind. UTG folds dealer folds small blind raises to 0.30 and I 3 bet to 0.90 with K3 suited hearts (please dont eat me alive for this) he calls with A7 suited spades. Flop is QhTsJs, he raises to 1.04 and I call. Pot is now 3.89 and turn is 8h. he shoves for 7.96 and I call with around 33% equity. I talked to a friend I made here about this and we thought it was a bad play but not horrible, what do you guys think?

P.S someone was sitting out so only 4 players in the action

i dont mind the steal but these hands are easy to get trapped in and need discipline

result doesnt matter because its very rare u win in this spot without the straight

and even then its worse cuz flush draw as well. so the steal was profitable if he folds enough but beyond that its bad

How is 33% equity "very rare"? It means I win 1/3 of the time right? Folding by flop maybe makes sense to me but not by turn. I have an open ended straight and a flush, he has the flush and ace high.

Preflop was a steal like you said and after that I'm commiting myself with an open ended straight and backdoor flush, then flush draw. King high flush is only beaten by ace and you can only use 5 cards so my low kicker doesn't really matter. I agree it isn't an optimal play but I either don't understand or don't agree with your logic.

Unless It was an open ended straight and flush draw(with 47.73% equity on the turn),it would be a fold for me after the villain had shoved on the turn.

Calling the flop here is pretty bad. I'd lean towards folding, but could be talked into a raise.

You're drawing to a hand that:

-No one will pay off when it hits
-Is not the best draw
-Could be drawing to a split (AK & K9)
-Your opponent likely has blockers for in his hand.

So calling is pretty terrible.

Turn is just setting money on fire, but you knew that.
