Board [Kh 8h Jc Qd Th]

I'm just wondering if I played this hand fine in terms of betsizing etc. Looking back at it now, I think I should have bet more on the turn.

When Villain calls flop c/r I put him on AK/KQ/T9/QT and flush draws. Don't think he ever calls with AT unless it's AThh although he could definitely 3-bet the flop with that hand. Think KJ and higher sets are absolutely 3-betting the flop on such a drawheavy board. When he just flats the turn bet, would it be correct to assume that he never has a straight or a set and his range is mostly AK and hearts. Not sure what hearts are in his range here, AJhh, QJhh, like A6hh.

1.80 into a 2 pot is more than enough. You are not giving him the correct odds, i even think that it may be a bit too much but as he called i think you got the most value from the range you put him on (AK, Kq etc...). then a disciplined fold when everything gets there.

You might want to consider that his entire presumed range isn't equally likely. For instance, AK might have 3bet pre-, which reduces but doesn't eliminate the probability he has it when he calls the C/R.

Most of the time he'll have those pair plus draw hands which you can make pay to chase his draws and so you did. Obivous fold on the river.

Well played :)

I flatted his open out of the BB. There was no opportunity for him to 3-bet.

My bad

I do think you might want to look more at some of your assumptions. For instance,

Think KJ and higher sets are absolutely 3-betting the flop on such a drawheavy board.
How effectively draw heavy is this board in light of your actions? There are possible draws, but how confident can he be that you have one and that you chose to C/R the flop with it? The more likely he thinks this is, the more weight he has to give to draws being within your range. Otoh, the less likely he thinks this is, the less reason he has to play as if you have a draw.

I think you played it great. Its an unfortunate turn and river for your bottom set. After the river falls the fold should be pretty easy.
