The hand is fairly straight forward, Villian bets every street and I call down.

On the river, I'm getting the feeling that he has a set but I couldn't get myself to fold the hand.

Was it the right decision?

Nh!

It's going to be a set or 78 some of the time, but it's also going to be air or a weaker two-pair often enough for this.

I think villain's donk bet means he probably has 9x a lot of the time.

To be honest, I probably would've raised the turn. It's a fairly draw heavy board and you want to get value off gutshots like 98s and 76s, as well as backdoor flush draws.

With top 2 pairs, I'm generally playing for stacks, but that river bet looks very strong, so as played, I'd probably just flat-call the river. There's no way at all that I would fold at any point in the hand. If the villain happens to have a set or a straight, then that's just a cooler. You weren't getting out of it.

I would agree if villains donks were half pot, but I don't think a lot of people are donk betting 2/3 or 3/4 with a draw.

Maybe he is though. The psb on the river does make it look like a busted draw if villain is overly aggressive
