PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 3

MP: $12.43
CO: $7.99
Hero (BTN): $5.00
SB: $12.73
BB: $13.53
UTG: $5.16 This guy is a 46/17 with a steal of 75 and C/R flop of 1/3 or 33%. Just 35 hands though...

SB posts SB $0.02, BB posts BB $0.05

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has A 5

UTG calls $0.05, fold, fold,

Ok he limps UTG so he is probably bad, Hasn't got much, perhaps low pairs of SCs, very slim possibility of AA or KK as many still love that awful transparent limp/re-raise BS.
He is shaping up to be quite loose and passive but the SB loves to fold to steals so I make it a little more than the standard 20c in this spot.

Hero raises to $0.22, fold, fold, UTG calls $0.17

Flop: ($0.51, 2 players) A T K

Ok he has called OOP
and I have my ace but he has check/raised 1 out of the 3 times so I check behind. It is quite a scary board though so perhaps this wasn't wise?

UTG checks, Hero checks

Turn: ($0.51, 2 players) 3

Well this card hardly changes a lot...

UTG bets $0.49, Hero calls $0.49

Pot control and I am no more worried now than I was after the flop!

River: ($1.49, 2 players) 7

Another brick.

UTG
bets $4.45 and is all-in
,

Ok he has bet about 3X the pot and I am getting about 1.3:1 on the call. To me it looks like he has senced weakness from me and doesnt want to go to showdown. The size of he bet suggests he doesn't want me to call. If his stats were tighter I would consider the possibility he was getting tricky and did want the action.

I feel like I beat most of the hands he could have in this spot,

JJ, 99-22. K9-KQ, QT, JT, T9s

Hero to act...

You don't think that 45% of the time TPSK would be good?

My warning bell goes off from the fact that he limped/called and then raised the turn after you checked after his check on the flop.

Seems like a setup. Maybe 2 pair, like KT?

U know that the villain had nothing right since the title says hero call or tilt turned lucky

I would still bet flop, many limp with ugly broadways, so you can get value out of them/protect from straight. As played, I would fold river, my hero calls hardly ever work.

Point taken. But I'm trying to look at this hand without considering the actual results at the end. From what we know, at the point where the OP stopped the play, I'm saying that I'd be a bit cautious about what's going on here.

I accept that I could be totally wrong (and then I'd like to know why). But taking into account the results of the hand isn't the best way to do HA, IMHO.

um i never take results into account

this thread isn't really a HA. More of a brag, IMHO

Edit: if OP wants HA then i bet flop fold turn fold river

Sorry guys for hinting at the result, I wanted a descriptive title but perhaps gave too much away. Yes, I guess this was a bit of a brag but I wanted analysis too... so shoot me! :)

FWIW I called and he flipped over Q6o and began to insult my "fish plays" calling me an idiot for calling with A5. I just said thanks and that I loved guys like him :)

I can see I should have found that Cbet after the flop but still believe the call on the river was correct given the way the hand played out.

cant see the call on the river being correct. just cant. more of a lucky ass call and the title of the thread obviously gave it away. but whatevr i guesss..move this to BBC not hand analysis
