Hand played on ignition Casino 5NL 6-max Zone Poker. No reads or HUD stats available.

Button ($11.69) limps
Small Blind ($4.93) completes
I check behind in the Big Blind ($16.07) with 8c3c

Flop ($0.15): 4c 9c 4s
Small Blind checks
I bet $0.10
Button raises to $0.20
Small Blind folds
I call

Turn ($0.55): 4c 9c 4s 7c
I check
Button bets $0.15
I raise to $0.65
Button 3bet jams all-in for $11.44 total
I fold

I'm not sure what I can beat here, but the whole situation seems sketchy. It doesn't feel like villain would limp preflop with 99 and I think he would fold 94s or 94o, so it's hard for me to put him on a boat unless he got frisky with 77 on the flop and didn't raise it preflop (again, not likely). 44 is possible but there's only one combo of that, and I think he would want to slow-play it a bit more, being that it's the absolute nuts.

The next likely candidates seem to be weak suited aces like A2s-A5s; I would raise these preflop from the button, but villain may not. In this case, I'm crushed if he has clubs.

The only other thing I can think of is slow-played Aces or Kings that he heavily overvalued on the turn, or some strange hand with a 4 in it like A4, 54s, or 43s. Possibly some pair + nut flush draw or trips + nut flush draw.

It seems like with his line, I have to give villain absolutely no credit for being a decent player in order to make this call profitable. What do you think? Is this a bad fold? Or am I losing to too many hands to make it a profitable call?

Just check call preflop. It does not make any sense to bet on the flop with pretty much anything. On turn never raise fold that flush. If you want to play safe just call turn and river? That play by you was so odd if i would be the villain in the hand i would think you bluff raised with A high or some 55 hand.

Can you explain more as to why that may be? I would be more likely to check call with the nut flush draw on this flop since I can hit an Ace and feel more comfortable than say hitting an 8 with the hand I had. For that reason, it seems like a better idea to play it more aggressively and try to get some folds. Is this a flawed line of thinking? Also, why does my check raising the turn lead you to believe I'm on a whacky range like A high or 55?

Your capped.

Do we have info on villain?

I dont like raising 2nd nutted hands because i dont like being pushed off my hand.

More of a showdown phaze is needed.

Hes limping which means hes not a good player... if hes been shoving a lot randomly its a snap and could be a spaz tilter. But info plz

Check call the flop for me. With table info, it might even be check fold that flop. Weak flush draw with a paired board with no over cards, I don't think you want to play this draw aggressively. With a paired board and no information, just try to get to showdown with check/call turn and river....for me anyway.

This hand was played on Ignition Zone, so I don't have any HUD STATS or reads on this player.

I think I can get behind that line of thinking. I suppose against an unknown, this hand leans more toward showdown value than outright value.
