888 Poker - $0.10 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BTN: 65.2 BB (VPIP: 45.50, PFR: 16.93, 3Bet Preflop: 5.41, hands: 201)
SB: 217.7 BB (VPIP: 24.11, PFR: 19.37, 3Bet Preflop: 6.90, Hands: 263)
BB: 100 BB (VPIP: 18.82, PFR: 16.13, 3Bet Preflop: 3.23, Hands: 194)
UTG: 100 BB (VPIP: 20.82, PFR: 16.08, 3Bet Preflop: 7.07, Hands: 492)
MP: 100 BB (VPIP: 20.82, PFR: 18.93, 3Bet Preflop: 5.98, Hands: 328)
Hero (CO): 104 BB

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 9 9

UTG raises to 3 BB, fold, Hero calls 3 BB, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (7.5 BB, 2 players) 9 J T
UTG checks, Hero bets 5 BB, UTG raises to 16.5 BB,

UTG never check-raised before over a decent sample size, so this was very suspicious.
I put him on TT-JJ, KQ and AQ (the only hand i m not crushed here).
I dont think he plays a draw like that but a royal-flush-draw maybe, so are we beat here?

Hero calls 11.5 BB

Turn: (40.5 BB, 2 players) 4
UTG bets 26.5 BB, Hero calls 26.5 BB

River: (93.5 BB, 2 players) 8
UTG bets 54 BB and is all-in, fold

UTG wins 88.9 BB

Good fold imo. He could've been doing that with QdQx, AdKd, AdQd too, and they all (except for the AdKd) get there on the river.

Uhm, First I would 3bet his open since his preflop raise is standard 16%; We get more information about his hand and plus we have position on him on the entire street. This is a 3bet/call, but depends on his 4bet sizing of course. However, we call in position with 99, standard play. We flop big, hitting bottom set of 99. UTG check, we bet and got raise. At this point, We could be way ahead or way behind. I think we have to call here and justify our play later on turn and the river. I don't think we are beat here because he could have draws or overpair with back door draws. I would say proceed the turn and the river carefully.

Good reason to fold this spot, another reason that you can fold is you didn't put much money in pot,so this fold is ok

vs EP it's just a call. 16% overall doesn't mean that he open 16% from EP.

about postflop: well played. I don't expect him to play overpairs by x/raising here

Pre-flop is fine.

I would check back the flop to keep pot small and hope to keep the pot small the whole way. The board is super coordinated and I'm not liking many turns and rivers so I would like to keep the pot small.

AS PLAYED I would call the flop then get it in on the turn. That turn was a blank so now our set is more of favorite and the odds for the villain to call have gone down.

i like the way u played the hand the river card is an easy fold that card may had saved u money, but flop and turn it's hard to find a fold there. well played hand for me

High variance spot.
If you take his whole range into account he could do this with qq+, and also a diamond draw. The diamond draws missed and you beat kk and aa.
You would have to put all the combos you lose to vs the ones you win against to find out if you can make a profitable call. On that run out bottom set probably no good but I'm only guessing.

On a four card straight board some of his bluffs like qq and aq got there so yeah I guess a good fold.
