BTN: $6.47
SB: $4.12
Hero (BB): $8.09
UTG: $4.22
MP: $5.00
CO: $6.29

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is BB with K :club: 5 :diamond:
4 folds, SB raises to $0.15, Hero raises to $0.50, SB calls $0.35

Flop: ($1.00) 8 :diamond: 9 :diamond: Q :club: (2 players)
SB bets $0.48, Hero raises to $1.70, SB folds

What do you think about the way I played this hand? I'm typically bluff raising donk bets about 90% of the time because I find that the fold equity is so high.

Not a fan of pre and when he donks this flop he has more draws in his range then middling hands that he is going to fold. He could also have sets, 2 pairs, TPTK that he is never folding. Seems like a pretty optimistic raise that won't get a fold the large majority of the time.

For me, it would depend on SB. Vs the right player this is fine.

But in the dark, a dangerous move IMO.

OH, just saw SB stack, so a fish. Any stats on him? Fish wont fold anything a lot of times, so I am probably just mucking this pre. I would want a bit more equity to make a move like this vs a guy who may not be able to lay down A high.

Stats on SB?
Is he passive, or aggressive?

The thing is, K5o is not a strong hand, and it's not even ahead of a 60% opening range.
Against a lagtard, you'd be better to just call preflop, and against a regular fish, you'd be better to just fold preflop.
On the flop, neither a lagtard nor a fish is going to go away easily, especially on that type of board, so this will rarely work.

This would actually work better against a solid opponent. But is a solid opponent going to donk this flop with anything you can push him off of?

Wrong spot to do this in, imo. I think you got lucky.

Never raising this flop, this hits cc ranges way to hard. Pf can be ok, I probably never do this, I at least try and wait for a kXs so I can have a bit more equity barreling with a fd.

Im not fan of this 3bet, i would 3bet bluff K5s tho.
postflop i also raise donks most of the time, specially donks with that sizing. If he pots flop i would probably fold.
