He could be barrelling a lot of draws here, that all missed except T9s that is in his range. He can have an over pair, a Q. I'm ok calling the turn and when the Q comes on the river and all other draws missed, I'd have a hard time not bluff catching here. It's a close spot imo and you played it fine (with no reads I suppose) Against a nit, I call one street and that's it. And he you had the ajo with the ace of heart, it would change things too as all the nut draws wouldn't be there for him.

Biggest problem in this hand is your stack, top up!

This is just a speculation because I don't play that short. My best guess is that it's 3bet/fold, if called flop shove. Don't quote me on this though.

That would make a shove with an spr slightly above two (assuming he 3-bet 9bb oop vs this raise), don't think it an auto jam with second pair, with top pair you are playing for stacks.

3-betting has merits though,, I'd 3-bet against cut-off for sure.

Hmm yeah I think you are right. I did not mean to 3bet for value alone, but more to fold equity (some worse hands would call, FD, Jx, etc) , but there seem not to be better hand to fold so jammin has no merit. If there is bet/call, or villain bets hero call I think hero with SPR1 is committed. With 50bb you need to play agro though, normal balanced calling/raising game does not work well if I have understood right. You have your bluff hands and value hands, with value hands you push to the end, with 50bb value range is already quite wide compared to 100b play.

How would you continue then on the flop if 3bet? Pot 19.5, 41 behind.

Ugghhh, I hate short stackers with high 3b%. See them so rarely it is pretty tough to play against.

I think this hand is finely played though. Not even going to pretend to know if 3betting pre is better or not. It really depends on your strategy as a whole and is probably +EV either way

Thanks for your evaluations, the 3 bet againts HJ looks like loose without stats or reads, but now I know that vs this villain could be fine he has Q8o in this hand

Regards!
