Hello,

BB: $6.56
UTG: $5.46
Hero (CO): $7.15
BTN: $5.13
SB: $4.51

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero is CO with A of hearts 6 of spades
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.15, 1 fold, SB calls $0.13, 1 fold

(opponent were rather tighter than looser, although i have no solid stats to prove it. Ther is chance of stealing the pot, especially because i was playing tight)

Flop: ($0.35) 2 of diamonds 3 of clubs 6 of diamonds (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.17, SB calls $0.17

(I have position, I want a call from two overcards, small suited aces, and flush draws.)

Turn: ($0.69) J of spades (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.33, SB raises to $0.66, Hero calls $0.33

(I bet again to take down the pot, or get calls from draws with intention of checking behind most rivers. Villain min check-raise seems strong like he is having the best hand at this point. I guess it could be JT, JQ JK JA . What do you think he represents and what do you think he has here ? Here, I think I can only win if I improve, and have only 5 outs 8.2-1 pot offering about 5-1. This was of course bad decision because even implied odds do not justify the call. The problem is if there are some chances of him bluffing, this can turn call into EV+)

River: ($2.01) A of clubs (2 players)
SB bets $0.50, Hero raises to $1.40, SB folds

(I make my EV- decision and hit my out, raise to get more chips of my opponent)

I don't like the river raise at all because you're almost never getting called by anything worse. Outside of that I don't mind any part of the hand.

I think honestly we can check back on the turn here. Keep the pot a little smaller, and we can get value if villain misses, and donks the river (because hero checks through on turn).

As played, I don't think villain is very strong. He is probably raising to see if he can get a fold, using the jack as his scare card.

OTR, yes of course raise. The only problem here is villain missed all of his gutters/FDs, and has nothing. The top of his range is probably Jx of diamonds. Pretty standard, bad player donking to try and fold you out.

Raise PF ok.
Flop bet is good.
Turn I would check back (but I'm a nit)
River, bet/raise as long as straight/FD misses.

Meh, villain doesn't have anything here. I don't mind the raise. He could call it off with Jx diamonds.

I don't like checking the turn since we don't get value from his draws if the river bricks.

That is a heck of a point.

Won't V lead pretty much all rivers though, when hero checks back?

Exactly, he doesn't have anything so he's not calling. Likely the only hands that call are AJ or a flopped straight.

Maybe. Depends on the villain really. Some passives are just there to see if the draw hits and they just give up if it doesn't. If the river does complete the draw though we still have to call most rivers if we check through the turn.

So if we are betting the turn, we assume villains range is draws, combo hands (pair with gutter, FDs,), and maybe any pair?

Sounds about right for hands we expect to call the turn bet. Honestly I don't view his min raise as much more than a call and perhaps I even think he's weaker because Jx hands would probably never take that line. So I see his range as almost always just draws/air we he min raises.

Yeah I do too (see his range as weak, due to the crappy raise OTT).

I guess if we hadn't bet the turn, we would not have this info.

Yeah but to me the turn bet isn't for info it's just to get value from his draws considering the board texture. If the board wasn't as drawy I'd 100% agree with checking back the turn.

Little debate here :D. thanks for the comments. You right , river raise can only be called by better hand, and on turn bet, I don't have enough info to know whether he will bet if he missess his draws, so better to charge him on the turn. I am still unsure how to interpret this min raise on turn(strange line).

Why would someone min-raise out of position ? He must be a donkey to think that this size will make me fold (so it is not semibluff). I can only see him doing this with Jx, because he will act first on turn.

I dont like the sizing. Im always potting or 85% betting this flop as we are almost always getting floated by overcards, flush draws and medium pp (which which most of the times will fold to scarry or blank turn cards. The j on the turn doesnt change much so another barrel at this point is mandatory in my opinion cause of the flush draw and villains overall weak line. The river if unimproved is then a check back and try to get to as cheap of a showdown as possible esp, if villain calls turn cbet as well. If flush draw doesnt get to river and we have checked turn previously,
then we will call all bets villain leads into us with mostly because the line we took makes them take this line alot of the times but this of course is villain dependant.

So overall my favorite line for playing this hand is open pre, bet flop biggish, bet turn again pretty biggish to get value from his flush drawd and to protect against overcard fd,s , and then unless we improve more on river , checking behind is fine.
